CV
I am a medical entomologist specializing in vector-borne diseases, with a particular focus on mosquitoes and ticks in Southeast Asia. As Head of the Medical and Veterinary Entomology Unit at the Institut Pasteur du Cambodge, I work on vector surveillance, taxonomy, insecticide resistance and vector-pathogen interactions, with a strong interest in understanding how environmental changes and human activities influence the distribution and behavior of vector species, especially Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus, key vectors for dengue, chikungunya, and Zika viruses.
Mycurrent research projects include the evolutionary dynamics and speciation of Aedes species in the Scutellaris group, molecular mechanisms of insecticide resistance in Aedes albopictus, and the use of MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry and satellite imagery for the identification of mosquito and tick species and their ecological habitats. I also research on the role of ticks and other ectoparasites in zoonotic transmission, including their presence on livestock and wildlife.
I also develop One Health approaches, bridging entomology, epidemiology, and digital tools to improve vector control strategies and outbreak preparedness. Myresearch supports national and regional efforts to strengthen surveillance systems and anticipate the emergence of new pathogens.
