After finishing high school at the Lycée Français Louis Pasteur in Bogotá (Colombia) I came to France to do my Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences at Lyon 1 University. Two years into my degree I entered the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon, where I obtained my bachelor’s and am currently doing my master’s degree.
Having a special interest in pluridisciplinary approaches in biology, I joined the Immunology of Fungal Infection unit at Institut Pasteur for a 4-month internship in February 2021. In this project, I studied b-glucan-priming of human monocyte-derived-macrophages and murine bone-marrow-derived macrophages, as well as its potential modulation of phagocytosis during a Salmonella typhimurium infection.
