A little guide for advanced search:

  • Tip 1. You can use quotes "" to search for an exact expression.
    Example: "cell division"
  • Tip 2. You can use + symbol to restrict results containing all words.
    Example: +cell +stem
  • Tip 3. You can use + and - symbols to force inclusion or exclusion of specific words.
    Example: +cell -stem
e.g. searching for members in projects tagged cancer

About

Inés received her PhD in Cancer Research, Biomedicine and Cellular Biology from the University of Oviedo at the Institute of Sanitary Research of Principado de Asturias (ISPA) (Spain) in 2017. During her graduated work she focused on relevant aspects of tumor cell migration and invasion in Head and neck squamous cell carcinomas (HNSCC): the interaction of tumor cells with the tumor microenvironment and with other cells within the tumor mass. She had also the opportunity to collaborate in the development of BODIPY-carnitine probe allows monitoring the function and activity of mitochondria in living cells number of patent 18827960.8-1109 PCT/ES2018070477.

Now in the Zurzolo´s lab Inés is working in elucidate the role of tunneling nanotubes between glioblastoma stem cells and astrocytes in the resistance to treatment, recurrence and progression of Glioblastoma. To this aim, she is using 3D co-cultures as a model to mimic the conditions in the patient. Her major interest is to assess the metabolic implication of the transfer of mitochondria in the mechanism of resistance to treatment.

She is very artistic and appasionated in microscopy for this reason she is always looking for the perfect picture.
