Dea Garcia-Hermoso is research engineer at the French National Reference Center for Invasive Mycoses and Antifungals since 2002. Her main expertise is the phenotypical and molecular identification of filamentous fungi causing invasive mycosis in humans (including antifungal susceptibility determination). She is curator of the sequence online database Institut Pasteur FungiBank. Her research interest is fungal diversity with special emphasis on the phylogenetic relationship among different groups of fungal species.
She is Head of Studies of the Medical Mycology Course since 2005. She is member of the F1000 (Faculty of 1000), session Infectious Diseases; of the ISHAM working groups for Pseudallescheria/Scedosporium (Scedosporium-ecmm) and for the Barcoding Medical Fungi and participate to the ISHAM ITS database.
