Alex studied applied mathematics and fluid dynamics at the University of Cambridge. For his PhD he developed theoretical models of microswimmer locomotion under the supervision of Prof. Eric Lauga. He was a visiting researcher at Tohoku University and the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Studies, and held a postdoc position at the École normale supérieure with Francis Corson before joining Institut Pasteur in 2021. Here he works in close collaboration with experiments on physical models of the embryonic tissue and the mechanochemical regulation of morphogenesis.
