A little guide for advanced search:

  • Tip 1. You can use quotes "" to search for an exact expression.
    Example: "cell division"
  • Tip 2. You can use + symbol to restrict results containing all words.
    Example: +cell +stem
  • Tip 3. You can use + and - symbols to force inclusion or exclusion of specific words.
    Example: +cell -stem

The Cellular Plasticity and Disease Modelling laboratory is looking for a highly motivated and creative postdoctoral fellow to work with us on senescence in muscle regeneration/degeneration during aging.

Research topic: Our laboratory aims to elucidate senescence heterogeneity in specific physiological and pathological conditions, with a particular interest in its opposite impact on tissue regeneration during aging. We combine mouse genetics, cellular and molecular biology tools with single cell RNAseq and proteomic approaches to understand senescence pleiotropic roles and provide necessary precision in developing interventions targeting the detrimental effects of senescence in diseases. Meanwhile, we are also actively exploring the interplay between somatic reprogramming and senescence in the context of rejuvenation and aging.

The main objective of this project is to characterize the temporal regulation of senescence heterogeneity in the context of muscle regeneration and pathology, to exploit means to specific targeting the detrimental effects of senescence in muscle degeneration.

Location: We are located at the Development and Stem Cell Biology Department at Institut Pasteur in Paris, which offers state-of-art core facilities in an excellent international and multidisciplinary scientific environment.

Profile: We seek to recruit a highly passionate and motivated postdoctoral fellow with a strong interest in cellular senescence. The candidate should hold a Ph.D. degree in Life Science. Candidates with a strong background in molecular and cell biology, multicolor flow cytometry, transcriptomic analysis, and confocal microscope are strongly encouraged to apply. Prior experience with muscle biology and mouse genetics is not required. The successful applicant should show the ability to think critically and drive a project independently while collaborating with members of the lab and collaborators. English is the working language.

Position: The position is funded by an ANR grant for at least 2 years, with possibility of extension. Salary will be commensurate to previous experience and in line with Pasteur Institute guidelines. The candidate will be expected to apply for independent funding. The successful candidate will be mentored and supported in their career development. Our laboratory is committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive environment.

Application: Please send the following information (in one single PDF) to han.li@pasteur.fr.
1. Cover letter describing past research experiments, your research interests and career goals, and motivation to join our laboratory.
2. CV with the publication list and contact information of two referees.

A first round of evaluation will be concluded by November 15th, 2021. The application platform remains open until the position is filled. The starting date is flexible but ideally before Jan. 2022.
