A little guide for advanced search:

  • Tip 1. You can use quotes "" to search for an exact expression.
    Example: "cell division"
  • Tip 2. You can use + symbol to restrict results containing all words.
    Example: +cell +stem
  • Tip 3. You can use + and - symbols to force inclusion or exclusion of specific words.
    Example: +cell -stem
e.g. searching for members in projects tagged cancer

About

The 5-week course « Insect Vectors and Pathogens transmission » took place from May 21 to June 21 2024. It has attracted 18 students from 12 countries (Algeria, Belgium, Burkina Faso, Congo, France, Haiti, Hong-Kong, Madagascar, Niger, RCA, Senegal, Tunisia). We were 50 teachers to help them to gain complementary skills on vector biology and control. Teachers were from IP Paris, IRD, Pasteur Network (Dakar, Guyane française, Guadeloupe, Nouvelle Calédonie, Tunis), d’autres institutions (Anses, Cedre, CIRAD, EID, ENVAT, EPHE, INRAe, ILM, IRBI, SPF….), other institutions (INRAe, Anses, CIRAD, EID, , EPHE, IRBI….), Universities (Liverpool, Aix-Marseille, Lyon, Strasbourg). This Pasteur-IRD course combines theoretical and practical training in biology and control of disease vectors and the pathogens they transmit. Students had around 70 hours of lectures, 30 hours of practical work, 3 round tables (Olympic games, climate change, vaccination). Students studied different families of vectors (biting midges, mosquitoes, black flies, bugs, sandflies, ticks, fleas, lice, tsetse flies..) and spent 3 days at Paimpont to learn how to collect and identify ticks and mosquitoes. This 5-week course is held every two years in alternation with a course in the Pasteur Network. Thanks to Pasteur, IRD, Fonds Inkermann, Labex IBEID for their support.
