The Opera Phenix Plus is an automated microlens-enhanced spinning disk confocal microscope, designed for high-throughput / high-content assays and phenotypic screening. Compatible with multiple carriers (from slides to 1536-well plates), it is mainly dedicated for plate formats and allows widefield and spinning-disk confocal imaging. Fully automated and incubated, it allows unbiased fast and sensitive imaging of both live and fixed samples, in 2D and in 3D. Thanks to its 4 cameras and various excitations filters including short bandwidths filters, up to 4 different channels could be acquired simultaneously with minimal crosstalk.
Rare events acquisition can also be optimized due to the advanced PreScan option, enabling what is referred as Smart micrscopy. Rapid imaging at low magnification/resolution of a zone (i.e. full well) can be performed for automatic detection of areas/cells of interest, to re-image the latter automatically and subsequently at better resolution with another objective.
