About

Abstract : In the mosquito, Plasmodium parasites undergo a highly divergent mitosis as they form eight gametes out of a single precursor cell. Here, three rapid rounds of endomitosis are followed by a single round of nuclear division, during which chromosomes are segregated. I will present our recent work how this process of chromosome segregation is safeguarded by a highly divergent actin-nucleating Arp2/3 complex and how we currently investigate the molecular biology of this unusual complex.
