About

Abstract :

Cryptosporidium is an apicomplexan parasite that causes severe diarrhea. This can be especially deadly for young and malnourished children. Unfortunately there are no effective drugs or vaccines for cryptosporidiosis. The Pawlowic lab uses CRISPR to investigate parasite biology, specifically parasites transmission. We collaborate with drug discovery scientists to test new therapies that are in development.
