PhD/Head of Unit
Project Summary: My current interests and fields of research are mainly focused on antimicrobial resistance surveillance and the spread of AR bacteria (with a special focus on Enterobacteriaceae expressing an ESBL) between different ecosystems and with a special interest on mother child transmission: http://www.charliproject.org.
We work on the design of new diagnostic tools by means of LAMP technology as well.
Other research topics are: prevalence and pathophysiology of pediatric environmental enteropathy in Madagascar, emergence of MDR and hypervirulent clones of Klebsiella pneumoniae, melioidosis, whooping cough. We also recently acquired a mass-spectrometer MALDI-TOF for diagnosis purposes.
