Study objective
The objective of the study is to investigate the effect of CSF changes on nerve cells. Analysing the response of nerve cells to CSF from uninfected donors, asymptomatic donors or people with HAM/TSP on nerve cells will provide a better understanding of the mechanisms and progression of HAM/TSP.
What personal data and samples collected from participants are used for SinCeH :
This study will not require any participation on your part.
Your blood plasma and CSF samples and data already collected (listed below) will be reused and made available to the research team.
– your demographic data: age, gender,
– your health data: dates, times and results of blood tests :
- status (asymptomatically infected, ill),
- rapidity of HAM progression,
- duration of illness and proviral load
