Bats have been associated with a number of emerging zoonotic viral diseases. 
The course will explore the impact of viruses of bat origin with a holistic approach spanning virology, immunology, public health systems, sociology and anthropology. Various viral models and situations will be considered with the help of leading scientists in this area, including ecologists, field biologists, immunologists, virologists and clinicians. Practical workshops will address the dynamics of viral evolution and current experimental strategies for molecular surveillance and pathogenetic studies.
