A post-PhD scientist position is available immediately in the laboratory of Mitochondrial Biology at Institut Pasteur in Paris.
The Wai Laboratory at Institut Pasteur in Paris is looking for a scientists (Fulltime
position) to join the team to undertake a first-in-kind small-molecule screening project for Mitochondrial Disease funded by Institut Pasteur and ArgoBioStudio.
The research focus of the lab is to understand the complex interplay of mitochondrial dynamics and metabolism in health and disease. We seek to design strategies aimed at re-balancing mitochondrial dynamics and translating our experimental findings to acquired and inborn human diseases.
The candidate will use a variety of mitochondrial assays in selectivity screens and compound validation studies to identify molecules that are able to phenotypically rescue cell and animal models of Mitochondrial Disease.
Specific Requirements:
- Experience in human cell culture and mitochondrial biology
- Molecular biology techniques, including DNA, RNA, protein extraction analyses
- Strong organizational and communication skills are required
- French language skills not required
Qualifications:
- Masters or PhD degree
Environment:
The candidates will benefit from training in a vibrantly intellectual and collaborative, international environment. Our team is diverse and multidisciplinary. Our research strategy builds upon frontier science in the areas of cell biology and biochemistry of mitochondria. We apply this knowledge to preclinical animal models and cellular models derived from patient biopsies to address fundamental translational knowledge gaps in rare genetic diseases of metabolism. Applications, including CV and cover letter, should be sent to: timothy.wai@cnrs.fr
