Project
Dr Aziz El-Amraoui lab “Progressive Sensory Disorders” is interested to various aspects of sense organs’ biology, with the goals of (1) understanding function of selected pathways in the inner ear, and (2) seeking related pathogenesis & treatments in corresponding animal models (see Michel V et al. EMBO Mol. Med. 2017, Dulon D et al. J. Clin. Invest., 2018).
We are recruiting a Postdoc for an ongoing project designed to understand protein-protein interactions in Usher syndrome, the major cause of dual deafness & blindness in humans, and other hearing disorders.
The work takes place at the Institut Pasteur Paris, in an international, dynamic and multidisciplinary working environment dedicated to the study of hearing and associated pathologies, from cellular and molecular mechanisms to clinical and therapeutic approaches.
Candidate profile
The applicant must hold PhD in a relevant research area with skills in bioinformatics, molecular biology, biochemistry, and cell biology. Importantly, a good expertise in computational interatomic approaches and disease molecular networks will be an asset.
Candidates can be nationals of any country. We are looking for highly motivated, rigorous and creative applicant, self-driven, with strong organization skills, and strong work-capacity and enthusiasm to work in an interdisciplinary and collaborative research environment, with access to state-of-the art core facilities for molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, imaging and behavioral studies.
