Présentation
The department of Computational Biology will be organizing new Methods Primer seminar series addressing advanced analytical methods. The meetings will be in-person only using a chalk talk format. It aims at being an open forum for both beginners and experts interested in understanding and discussing general principles and fine details of methodologies used in modern biology. It targets anyone on campus with a basic background in mathematics, statistics or algorithmic.
Primer of the day: Jean-Baptiste Masson (IP, Dept of Computational Biology / Dept of Neuroscience)
Keywords: Basics of Bayesian inference, priors, model evidence, model comparison, Sampling, variational inferences, physics & biology applications
Description: Bayesian inference combines probabilistic data with mechanistic models to identify the parameters generating the data and to select the most fitting model. This primer will cover its key principles and methods.
