Maestro is a new, state of the art, computing cluster deployed and operated by the HPC Core platform. It comprises of servers based on AMD Zen 2 architecture, with two 48 core CPUs per server, for a total of 96 cores for multi-threaded jobs. Servers are interconnected by the high-performance low-latency HDR100 Infiniband network allowing seamless direct internode communication for MPI based jobs. Most servers have 512Gb RAM, with some “bigmem” having 2Tb. Currently there are 29 servers in common partition as well as 52 in dedicated (financed directly by the research teams but available for interim use for everybody). More servers (including ones with GPUs) will arrive in 2021. Maestro is directly connected to the Zeus storage server and Sonic home/scratch server for fast data access.
