The one-month course « Insect Vectors and Pathogens transmission » occurred from 3 to 27 of April 2018. It has attracted 20 students from all over the world: Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Senegal, Lebanon, Guadeloupe, New Caledonia and France!
Let us say some words on this fantastic course where you can discover all diseases caused by pathogens transmitted by arthropods. We are 47 teachers to help you to become an entomologist. You will be familiar with some families of vectors (mosquitoes, black flies, bugs, sandflies, ticks, fleas, lice, tsetse..) transmitting pathogens causing different human and animal diseases, acquire concepts on vector control (genetically modified insects, insecticide resistance), vectorial transmission, hematophagy, insect immunity, interactions vector-pathogen, microbiome, pathogen genetic diversity. You will spend also half of your time on practical works (dissection, identification, infections, imaging…), and round tables on new challenges on the insect world.
