Présentation
When systems health is viewed as that part of medicine which looks at entire systems, rather than collections of parts, it implies potentially dealing with vast amounts of heterogeneous data. This imposes challenges in infrastructure and putting mechanisms in place for data collection, storage, sharing and data analysis. The deluge of data enables to accurately monitor an individual’s health and thus irrevocably links to precision medicine practices. At the basis of precision medicine though lies understanding patient-to-patient heterogeneity and its causes. In this presentation, we show some issues involved in bringing precision medicine to the clinic. We also give analytical considerations to identify disease subtypes, driven by biology. As toy analytical example, we take a novel in-house developed fine-scale structure detection tool, called IPCAPS.
