Infravec2 is a scientific consortium selected under the Horizon 2020 Research Infrastructure Program (INFRAIA) and financed for the period 2017-2020 by the European Union. The Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD, Montpellier, France) coordinates the Infravec2 Trans-National Access (TNA) activity for distribution of insect vector biology research resources (insect vector colonies, pathogens), and infrastructure access (biosecure insectaries, genomics platforms and bioinformatics) to European research groups. The Quality Manager will be based in Montpellier, and will provide Infravec2 TNA products to the European scientific community under highest standards of quality and traceability. The 4-year appointment will begin 1 February 2017.
Experience
Knowledge of common quality management models and references (ISO 9001: 2000, ISO 17025, BPL, price quality, etc.); of documentary techniques applied to quality management, and technical knowledge in platform management in biology and/or commercial distribution. The project is managed in English, and fluent written and spoken English is required (knowledge of French a plus). The successful candidate will display a high level of organization and autonomy in project management, and ability to work as part of a team. The candidate should possess good interpersonal skills, willingness to listen, and ability to negotiate, as well as writing and editorial skills. The candidate should have a level I diploma (doctorate, engineering degree) or equivalent in a field of management or commercial distribution, quality management, and/or biology, experience in project and/or platform management, and in Quality Management.
Duties
The Quality Manager will coordinate the project TNA activities along with IRD services, the IRD Scientific Officer, and the coordinator of Infravec2 (Institut Pasteur, Paris); design and implement the Quality Management System of Infravec2 in collaboration with project partners; organize and lead the Selection Committee for distribution of TNA resources; ensure legal compliance as necessary (e.g., Material Transfer Agreements); compile the administrative and financial reports of the TNA activities. The candidate will build indicators and develop a dashboard to monitor the quality of the procedures used and the projects supported by Infravec2, identify anomalies and analyze user requests, implement corrective and preventive actions, and sensitize, involve, support, advise and train partners to the requirements of the quality approach. The involvement in other research and/or communication activities within Infravec2 will be encouraged, as will visits among the various partners in Europe.
