A little guide for advanced search:

  • Tip 1. You can use quotes "" to search for an exact expression.
    Example: "cell division"
  • Tip 2. You can use + symbol to restrict results containing all words.
    Example: +cell +stem
  • Tip 3. You can use + and - symbols to force inclusion or exclusion of specific words.
    Example: +cell -stem
e.g. searching for members in projects tagged cancer

Responsibilities / Activities:

A postdoctoral fellowship position, up to 4.5 years is available in Prof. Christine Petit’s laboratory, “Basic Molecular Mechanisms of Hearing and Precision Medicine unit” at the “Institut de l’Audition”, a center of the Institut Pasteur affiliated to Inserm, located in the city center of Paris, in the 12th arrondissement.

The “Institut de l’Audition” is a fundamental & translational research center developing interdisciplinary research in neuroscience, dedicated to hearing. It has been created at the initiative of “Fondation pour l’Audition” and “Institut Pasteur”. The ““Institut de l’Audition” has 3 main priorities:

  1. lead an outstanding basic research aiming at understanding how the auditory system works
  2. develop innovative translational approaches of deafness and associated disorders
  3. diffuse scientific knowledge

The objectives of the work will be to study the expression and regulation of genes encoding components of protein complexes, molecular machineries and signal pathways with a pivotal role in the auditory system (from the cochlea up the primary auditory cortex). Impact of the corresponding dysregulation in the pathogenesis and the treatment of human auditory disorders will also be assessed.

Skills:

Candidates should have proven scientific skills in:

  • Chromatin biology
  • Transcriptional regulation of genes in mammals
  • Analysis of topological associated domain

Recommended skills:

  • Master the techniques of chromatin accessibility profiling with ATAC-seq or nucleosome positioning with MNase- seq and FAIRE-seq
  • Master the techniques of protein-DNA interactions for transcription or histone modification states as measured by ChIP-seq or ChIP-chip assays
  • Master chromosome conformation capturetechniques (Hi-C techniques)
  • Master the techniques of single cell transcriptomics or epigenetic analysis is a plus
  • Ability to use a spectrum of computational tools to address various problems in the comparative analytics of regulatory networks

The appointment will be financed by a RHU for up to 4.5 years.

The starting date should be between June to Sept 2020.

Applications should include a cover letter, with a brief statement of the research interests and experience, technical expertise, a list of publications and the contact information of at least two referees.

Applications should be sent to christine.petit@pasteur.fr with cc to evelyne.castanie@pasteur.fr
