About

Mélanie Bonhivers –Microbiologie Fondamentale et Pathogénicité, Université de Bordeaux, France

The flagellar pocket collar is an essential cytoskeleton structure in trypanosomes.  Its biogenesis and function are poorly understood mainly due to a lack of knowledge on its composition and interaction with the cytoskeleton. We have identified BILBO1 as the master FPC protein. Identification of BILBO1 partners together with structural and functional data shed light on the very first structure of an FPC protein complex and represent a significant step in deciphering the FPC interactome in T. brucei.
