I am a PhD student coming from Cambrils, a small beach town in the south of Barcelona. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science from the University of Barcelona. To close my bachelor’s degree, I did an internship abroad in Neurophysiology (Collège de France, Paris). I got involved in a project focused on the causal link between the formation of theta sequences during awake behavior and replay sequences in sleep under the supervision of Dr. Michaël Zugaro. The following year, I decided to do my masters in Developmental Biology at the University of Pierre and Marie Curie. I did my research internship at the Brain and Spine Institute in Claire Wyart’s lab in collaboration with Valentina Emiliani’s lab at Paris Descartes University. I worked on the improvement of optogenetic tools for the recording of neuronal activity in zebrafish. My last internship was in Paul Trainor’s lab at the Stowers Institute for Medical Research (Kansas City, USA) during which I studied multiple genes involved in craniofacial development. Finally I decided to join Pauline Spéder’s lab for my PhD based on the analysis of neural stem cell niche morphogenesis in the Drosophila larval brain.
