We search for an experienced scientist to join our interdisciplinary team as a Systems and Synthetic Biology Engineer.
Knowledge in molecular biology and genetics and in quantitative analysis methods (microscopy, facs or plate readers) are essential. Expertise in synthetic biology, systems biology and/or yeast biology would be valuable.
An inclination towards technological developments is also requested. Preliminary experiences with hardware engineering (do-it-yourself, 3D printing, arduinos or electronics,…) and/or software development (python or matlab scripts, image analysis or bioinformatics pipelines,…) would be a significant asset.
Passion for science and curiosity are the most important ingredients. Given the high interdisciplinarity of the lab, the will to exchange knowledge (transmit and learn) with other lab members on many different topics is an important asset.
Lastly, it is expected that the engineer will help shaping the functioning of the lab so as to ensure high-quality and reproducible research on the long run. Rigor, organization and long-term thinking are therefore important qualities.
