Présentation

Fluorescent live cell imaging and single-cell analysis provide a clear glimpse into bacterial individuality. Discrete subpopulations can be separated either by conventional FACS or droplet sorting, and enriched subsets can be subjected to global downstream analysis, such as RNA-sequencing. This approach aims to dig out new coding and/or non-coding sequences, particularly abundant during states of low metabolic activity, as hallmarks of quiescence.
