(EN) Jamin performed his PhD at the University of Würzburg, Germany, in the group of Markus Engstler where he investigated the duplication and biogenesis of organelles in the parasite Trypanosoma brucei and its relevance in virulence. He used advanced imaging techniques for the analysis and characterisation of three-dimensional structures during the cell division cycle in living cells. Within a joint DFG project with the ICIPE institute in Nairobi, Kenya, he performed fieldwork using high-speed microscopy in order to analyse trypanosome cell motility of natural strains isolated directly from infected animals. He joined the Trypanosome Cell Biology Unit (Philippe Bastin) at the Institut Pasteur as a post-doc in October 2015 working on the role of IFT172 in collaboration with the group of Esben Lorentzen at the Max Planck Institute in Munich, Germany. Jamin developed dSTORM to investigate IFT protein distribution at the base of the flagellum. He has moved to Munich where he now works with the microscope company Nanolive.
