    Exemple : +cellule -stem
e.g. searching for members in projects tagged cancer

A postdoctoral position is available in the team of Nadia Naffakh in the Department of Virology, starting September 2019.

Research project: Intracellular trafficking of influenza virus ribonucleoproteins.

The post-doctoral fellow will be part of a Human Frontier Science Program team that aims to unravel the molecular mechanisms of influenza viral ribonucleoprotein (vRNP) transport from the nucleus to the plasma membrane and assembly into vRNP bundles, a process that is critical for reassortment of the viral genome and the emergence of viruses with zoonotic and pandemic potential. This project is a collaboration between Nadia Naffakh’s team, biophysicists (Ibrahim Cisse, MIT, USA) and electron microscopists (Juan Fontana, University of Leeds, UK). The fellow will set up a cellular system which resembles the natural respiratory tissue targeted by influenza viruses, while being amenable to simultaneous imaging of the endogenous Rab11 protein and vRNAs. S/he will study the role of Rab11 and ER-shaping proteins in vRNP transport.

Who are we looking for: The candidate must have a PhD and experience in cell biology and/or molecular virology. Knowledge and experience related to complex cellular processes such as polarization, organelle-organelle contacts or virus budding will be appreciated. The candidate must be highly motivated, have good communication skills in english, and be willing and able to work as part of a team in an interdisciplinary and interactive research consortium.

What are we offering: Funding for 36 months. A highly topical fundamental research project in a very stimulating collaborative setting. A dynamic and creative environment in an interdisciplinary research institute, in the very heart of Paris.

Qualified applicants should send their CV, a statement of research interests and contact information for at least three references to nadia.naffakh@pasteur.fr
