The Biostation is a live cell recorder made for very long term imaging of live cells.
It is built around an incubation chamber where temperature, CO2 and humidity are controlled as in a standard incubator. A phase contrast objective (40x air) moves below the 35 mm bottom-glass petri-dish (µ-dishes Ibidi, MatTek or the Hi-Q4) where cells must be placed. Two intermediate lenses allow to generate other effective magnifications of 20x and 80x.
On top of the phase contrast image, two fluorescence filter cube can be used to generate fluorescence images over two channels.
