Who are we ?
The WISPR expertise group is a software development team whose aim is to build websites and apps using Web technologies. We provide our expertise to the scientists on campus, covering a broad range of services to design, develop, deploy, maintain web interface or databases creating fully functional dedicated tools for publishing and sharing analysis, data, scientific tools, software and workflows. The group have also expertise in programming, visualization and software development.
Our expertise
Several competencies and informatic languages are necessary to concep and develop dedicated to scientific questions following a dynamic an iterating process with essential steps:
- UX/UI design, data visualization,
- Development (front-end, back-end, software, workflow)
- Deployment and DevOps with respect to FAIR principles and reproducibility.
Depending on the project’s needs and size, WISPR team members can work alone as full-stack DevOps members or contribute specifically to a stage as domain experts in close collaboration with the other hub team members.
Our projects cover a wide variety of scientific topics (Structural Bioinformatics, Transcriptomics, Statistical Genetics, Genomics, Genetics, Phylogeny, etc.). Over the past few years, our group has created more than
15 web applications and databases, in collaboration with research units and other groups of the Hub, and with the support of the IT department.
Moreover, we oversee the Galaxy server of the Institut Pasteur, an integration platform to publish and use bioinformatics
tools and workflows in a web interface. Finally, our group is heavily involved in collaborations with, most notably, the Institut Français de Bioinformatique (e.g. participation to the distributed national environment of services in bioinformatics, ) and the ELIXIR European infrastructure (e.g. participation to the EXCELERATE program).
Do not hesitate to contact us using the Hub portal. to submit a project or ask a short question.
