Description: The aim of the “Dengue research Framework for Resisting Epidemics in Europe” (DENFREE) study is to identify samples from Cambodia which will be analyzed and shared with an extensive network of world-renowned research laboratories to assess the various determinants associated with asymptomatic Dengue infection.
Goal: Comparing these determinants with those of symptomatic cases should help understand the parameters underlying the risks of dengue virus transmission following its introduction. Such an endeavour requires epidemiological and fundamental, interdisciplinary research to identify key factors determining dengue transmission and dynamics. These will help develop new tools and strategies for controlling dengue transmission. In this project, epi@ipc is responsible for samples and data collection which will be studied at IPC but subsequently by members of a large international research consortium.
