Jessica received her PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the P. Universidad Católica de Chile. In the Zurzolo lab, she studies the involvement of the Wnt signaling pathway in tunneling nanotube (TNT) formation and its impact on the TNT-mediated transfer of alpha-synuclein in a neuronal cell line, primary neurons and primary astrocytes. To validate results obtained using these in vitro models, she uses ex vivo cultures of organotypic brain slices.
