Clara received her B.S. in Medical Biotechnology in Trieste (Italy) where she developed an interest in neuroscience. In 2011 she began her PhD in the Functional and Structural Genomics at SISSA (Italy) working in a laboratory of Cerebral Cortex Development. In 2016, she moved to Paris and joined the Zurzolo lab as a Post-doc, where she currently studies the transfer and degradation of alpha synuclein fibrils in human neuronal cells. She generated these cells by in vitro differentiation starting from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), obtained from patients affected by Parkinson’s disease.
