Jakson completed his M.Phil. in Life Science (Molecular Medicine) at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, under the supervision of Prof. King L. CHOW, focusing on the developmental genetics of nematode morphogenesis as well as the extracellular signal enhancement of growth factor signaling pathway in Caenorhabditis elegans. Taking a step further from single model organism system, Jakson joined the unit of Jost ENNINGA in October 2016 as a Ph.D. candidate to study the interactions between host cells and bacterial pathogens. Jakson will focus on the molecular determinants for the intracellular lifestyle and subcellular localization of Salmonella during infection.
