Blandine Rammaert is an MD, PhD, and infectious disease specialist.
Her main research interest concerns invasive fungal infections and acute lower respiratory infections. During her PhD in the mycology molecular unit in Pasteur Institute, she developed murine models of invasive fungal infections to study host-pathogen interactions. Her second research area is on chronic disseminated candidiasis.
She received her M.D. from the Lille II school of medicine, and her Ph.D. from the Denis Diderot University, Paris. She did a clinical fellowship in the Necker-Pasteur Center for Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine in Paris, and clinical research in Pasteur Institute in Cambodia.
