A full-time laboratory technician position is available in the Insect-Virus Interactions Unit led by Louis Lambrechts at Institut Pasteur in Paris (https://research.pasteur.fr/en/team/insect-virus-interactions). The successful candidate will be in charge of creating a genetic panel of inbred lines for the mosquito Aedes aegypti in the context of an ANR-funded project. The work will primarily entail mosquito rearing and controlled crosses in a state-of-the-art insectary.
The preferred start date is February 1st, 2021 and the initial contract will be for 1 year with a possible extension. Salary will be commensurate with experience according to the Institut Pasteur guidelines.
Applicants must have a technical apprenticeship (2 years post baccalaureate) or similar qualification in biological sciences. Prior experience with mosquitoes is desirable but not necessary. Scientific rigor, organizational skills, high motivation, English proficiency and ability to work collaboratively are essential.
