The DIVA project aids scientific users in the interpretation of their imaging data using virtual reality (VR). This multidisciplinary project is localized between two laboratories :
- Light-Based observation and control of cellular organisation (Institut Curie)
- Decision and Bayesian Computation (Institut Pasteur).

We are proposing a 3 to 6 month internship for a motivated student to contribute to a VR software project intended for scientific researchers. Specifically, this role will involve developing tools for visualizationand analyzingsingle-molecule imaging data (i.e. point clouds) in virtual environments. Novel strategies for interacting, representing and exporting data will be developed.
This project will be done in close collaboration with Bassam Hajj’s team at the Curie Institute. The team is developing the Multifocus Microscopy (MFM), a unique and powerful tool for acquiring volumetric microscopic images. MFM can performe high speed imaging of the entire physical depth of the entire cell in parallel without any mechanical movement. The software will be used to analyze complex 3D single particle localizations and random walks in the cell nucleus stemming from volumetric multi-focus microscopy.”
The successful candidate will have a background in object-oriented programming and an interest in data visualization and computer graphics.
