A little guide for advanced search:

  • Tip 1. You can use quotes "" to search for an exact expression.
    Example: "cell division"
  • Tip 2. You can use + symbol to restrict results containing all words.
    Example: +cell +stem
  • Tip 3. You can use + and - symbols to force inclusion or exclusion of specific words.
    Example: +cell -stem

One funded postdoctoral position is available in the lab “Stroma, Inflammation and Tissue Repair” (Institut Pasteur, Department of Immunology, co-affiliated with Developmental and Stem Cell Biology) to explore the regulation of tissue repair and inflammation by the stromal microenvironment.

The stromal microenvironment is a major player in tissue homeostasis, and dysregulations of stromal pathways promote inflammatory/fibrotic diseases and cancer. Our lab investigates the role of specific stromal subsets in tissue homeostasis/repair and disease pathogenesis, with a focus on intestinal homeostasis and inflammatory diseases (Dulauroy, Nature Medicine 2012; Stzepourginski, PNAS 2017; Di Carlo, JCI 2018; Jacob, Cell Stem Cell 2022). Building on previous work and preliminary data obtained in the lab, this project aims at deciphering how stromal cells impact on immune responses and tissue memory in inflammation and injury models, with a focus on the skin and adipose tissue, and investigating the underlying mechanism(s) at the cellular and molecular level. To that aim, we will utilize different experimental approaches, including transcriptomics (bulk/ single cells RNAseq), epigenetics, mice models for lineage tracing and depletion, FACS and confocal microscopy. The long-term aim is to identify novel therapeutic approaches in inflammatory diseases and regenerative medicine

The successful candidate has recently obtained a PhD, and has a proven track record of achievement in stromal/vascular biology or immunology. Highly motivated candidates with creative and innovative skills, interested in stromal/tissue crosstalk and looking for opportunities in interdisciplinary research are especially encouraged to apply. Previous experience with transcriptomics, FACS or fluorescence imaging would be a plus. The Institut Pasteur in Paris offers an international, dynamic and stimulating scientific campus with more than 1500 researchers working in 13 Departments favouring multiple collaborations, and access to top-notch platforms.

The position is available immediately, and includes all social benefits according to French laws. For more information on the project and to apply, please send your complete CV, motivation letter and contact information for 2 references, to: lucie.peduto@pasteur.fr.
