A post-doctoral position is open in the Structural Image Analysis Unit at Institut Pasteur, Paris (PI Niels Volkmann) for the development and application of algorithms for correlative multiscale imaging, volume processing, three-dimensional reconstruction, and data mining. The primary target data will be provided by cryogenic electron microscopy and cryogenic electron tomography but will also include complementary data sources such as fluorescence microscopy, FIB-SEM, structural modeling, and related techniques. The positions are initially for two years with a possibility of extension.
Candidates should have a PhD with strong background in software development, programming, and artificial intelligence techniques. Experience in analyzing data from structural or cellular biology will be a plus. Applicants must be fluent in written and spoken English and able to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. The lab provides a stimulating environment with dedicated access to high-performance computer servers and close collaborations with experimental structural and cell biologists focusing on workflow development for multiscale imaging.
If interested, please contact niels.volkmann@pasteur.fr and include your CV (in English) and contact information for three possible referees.
