The DIVA project aids scientific users in the interpretation of their imaging data using virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) environments. This multidisciplinary project is localized between the research teams of Maxime Dahan (Institut Curie) and Jean-Baptiste Masson (Institut Pasteur).
We are proposing a 3 to 6 month internship for a motivated student to contribute to the development of our VR visualization platform. The proposed role will involve applying new and existing machine learning methodologies (e.g. unsupervised learning, classification and pattern recognition) for enhanced representation of volumetric imaging data. The ideal candidate will have a familiarity with scripting languages such as Python and MATLAB. An elementary knowledge of image processing is additionally expected.
The intern will have the opportunity to work in a modern computational infrastructure at the Institut Pasteur and will have access to modern VR/AR headsets and motion capture devices. Furthermore, the student will gain valuable experience in data analytics. We are proposing a relatively competitive salary for this internship opportunity.
