A little guide for advanced search:

  • Tip 1. You can use quotes "" to search for an exact expression.
    Example: "cell division"
  • Tip 2. You can use + symbol to restrict results containing all words.
    Example: +cell +stem
  • Tip 3. You can use + and - symbols to force inclusion or exclusion of specific words.
    Example: +cell -stem

An engineer position is available in my research unit at the Institut Pasteur

Context : The position is the result of a collaboration between three units of the Institut Pasteur (directed by C. Buchrieser, M. Hamon, A. Subtil) aiming at identifying molecules with antimicrobial properties acting at the epigenetic level of the infected host. The person recruited will work in these three units, as well as on the screening platform directed by F. Agou.

The engineer will develop the optimal experimental conditions to test the antimicrobial properties of small molecules on four pathogens: Chlamydia trachomatis, Legionella pneumophila, Pseudomonas aeruginosas and Streptococcus pneumoniae.

Main missions: -Development of the experimental conditions of the screen (reading of the efficiency of the drugs by microscopy and ELISA test) – Realization of the 4 screens – Analysis and formatting of the results.

Profile: The candidate will have good experience in cell culture, experience in screening and/or microbiology will be an asset but is not essential. An excellent sense of organization of work time, and management of generated data (Excel spreadsheet) will be essential, as well as an ability to adapt to different work environments.

Level of experience required: 1 to 2 years after the master degree or equivalent

Duration of the contract: 12 months

Please send a cover letter, a CV with publication list and three references to Agathe Subtil at agathe.subtil@pasteur.fr. We would like to fill this position soon, so please send your application until October 15th.
