agilent2100-300x199@2xThe Bioanalyzer 2100 is dedicated to electrophoresis of DNA, RNA and proteins in a microfluidic circuit. The loading of samples is done on specific chips based on the type of sample. Electrophoresis is fast and provides qualitative data on the samples.

The training will be performed on a RNA 6000 Nano Agilent chip, for quality control of the RNA preparations. A small amount of RNA (1μl at 50 – 400 ng) was loaded in each well in the presence of a fluorescent label. The instrument measures in real time the fluorescence intensity emitted as a function of the RNA retention times in the microarray and the concentration of RNA molecules. The retention time and fluorescence intensity data are validated by reference to the molecular weight marker. The results are visualized in the form of an electropherogram from which the software evaluates the integrity of each RNA preparation and assigns a quality index (RNA Integrity Number) to each sample.

The main advantages of using this technology for the analysis of RNA preparations are: the speed of analysis, the small sample and reagent consumption, as well as the standardization and automation of the process.

The number of participants is limited to 5 people.

euros    The cost of an Agilent chip is currently € 35 and can control 11-12 samples according to the chip.

Billing for the service is always made via a paper sheet called « Bon de cession interne » (or BCI), that needs to be completed and  signed by the head of the entity, and the “gestionnaire”.
