A little guide for advanced search:

  • Tip 1. You can use quotes "" to search for an exact expression.
    Example: "cell division"
  • Tip 2. You can use + symbol to restrict results containing all words.
    Example: +cell +stem
  • Tip 3. You can use + and - symbols to force inclusion or exclusion of specific words.
    Example: +cell -stem

About

Icy basic training – Hands on.

The Image Analysis Hub of the Institut Pasteur  and the Bioimage Analysis group  organize a day dedicated to a hands-on introduction to Icy.

Icy is the software for Bioimage Analysis created and brewed in the Institut Pasteur. It is meant to bridge cutting-edge research in Image Analysis to end-users in Life-Science. It is a free and open-source software that provides tools and resources to visualize, annotate and quantify bioimage data. It aims at being the ultimate swiss army knife for Life-Scientists doing imaging.

This workshop provides a basic training to new users of Icy. It is suited to scientists that have no or very little experience with image analysis software.

The training will take place on Friday the 29th of June, from 9am to 5:30pm, in the Francois Jacob building of the Institut Pasteur. We will cover a basic introduction to image analysis and how to use Icy to analyze your data.

You need to bring your own laptop. Icy has rather modest needs for this training; yet, try to bring a laptop with which you feel comfortable working on images.

Program.

Starts at 9am and finishes at 5:30pm.

Morning: General introduction to the Icy environment.
– Fundamental features of Icy.
– Going further: Segmentation, quantitation.

Afternoon: Some specific tools.
– Single particle tracking.
– Active contours.
– Using protocols to automate analysis.

Registration.

Registration is free for people working on the campus of the Institut Pasteur.

We have seats for about 15 people, first come first serve. Inscriptions will close on the 11th of June. As a mark of respect to those who could not be accepted to the course, we ask all guests to attend to the full extend of the course.

If you cannot make it to this course, or if it gets filled too quickly, we will organize another one later.
